Throughout our history, specific ranches were planted with great forethought. Each ranch has varieties and rootstocks specific to soil types and micro climates of the individual growing areas.
Booth Ranches has taken great care in planting only the best varieties with careful consideration to flavor, size, color, soil types, location, timing plus many more environmental influences. The results of strategic planning is citrus grove after citrus grove producing premium oranges from our home to yours. The two varieties we grow are Navel oranges and Valencia oranges.
Normal season starts late October and goes into the beginning of July. Navel oranges are known for a thicker skin, easy to peel, seedless and excellent flavor. Navel oranges got their name from the “belly button” formation opposite the stem end. Although navel oranges are full of juice and can be squeezed they are mostly consumed out of hand.
Normal season starts late March and goes into August or September. Valencia oranges are known for their thinner skin, a few seeds and plenty of juice. Valencia oranges were named after Valencia, Spain. Valencia oranges are the most popular orange used for juicing because of their sweet content and plentiful juice.
